Ammonium Bisulfite for Agriculture

Ammonium Bisulfite for Agriculture

Ammonium bisulfite, white orthorhombic prisms, density 2.03g/cm3, melting point 150°C (sublimation in nitrogen), soluble in water, only stable in solution. It is prepared by absorbing the sulfur dioxide contained in the refined sulfur dioxide raw material gas or tail gas in the production of sulfuric acid by ammonia water, and then performing concentration, cooling, crystallization and centrifugal separation.

It can be used as a raw material for manufacturing 100% sulfur dioxide, caprolactam, synthetic tanned leather, pulp cooking agent, etc.

Ammonium bisulfite is used as a preservative, reducing agent, and used to produce sulfur dioxide, sodium bisulfite, etc. Usually used to make liquid sulfur dioxide (100% SO2), sodium sulfite (Na2S2O4) and sodium hydroxide (Nahso2? CH2O? 2H2O). Used as a reducing agent in the pharmaceutical industry. The ammonium bisulfite solution is prepared by the absorption method in two packed towers, which absorb the tail gas of sulfuric acid produced by contacting with ammonia.

Ammonium bisulfite is a low-toxic compound. The concentrate is slightly irritating to the skin, but short-term contact will not cause damage. After contact with the solution, rinse with water for a while. The product itself has no fire and explosion hazard. In case of fire, you can extinguish it with water. It should be stored in a cool and dry warehouse. The container must be sealed to prevent oxidation due to contact with air. Do not store and transport with acid or alkali.
